Naturelle LLC, located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, manufactures nearly 28,000 tons of personal care products every year for customers worldwide. To keep pace with rising demand and sustainability goals, the company recently evaluated how plant upgrades could lower costs, boost efficiency, and reduce its environmental footprint.
Tackling Inefficiencies
For years, the facility struggled with energy-hungry pumps, declining efficiency, excessive vibration and noise, and unplanned stoppages that affected production capacity. To address these issues, Naturelle tested the Alfa Laval OptiLobe rotary lobe pump against their existing equipment.
The results were striking: replacing seven conventional 5 kW lobe pumps with 1.73 kW OptiLobe 32 models cut energy consumption and related emissions by 65%, while also reducing operational noise.
Scaling Up the Solution
Encouraged by the savings, Dabur Naturelle not only switched those seven pumps but also invested in an additional 35 OptiLobe and SRU pumps for its operations in the UAE, Egypt, and Nigeria. The upgrades are helping the company move closer to its sustainability targets while strengthening production reliability.
Smarter Cleaning Systems
Beyond pumps, Dabur carried out a full audit of its tank cleaning lines—including agitators and mixers. By introducing a hot water cleaning system together with six Alfa Laval GJ A6 tank cleaning devices, the company achieved:
-
50% less water and cleaning media consumption
-
Up to 80% faster cleaning cycles
These improvements not only conserve resources but also free up more production time.
A Sustainable Path Forward
Through a combination of pump modernization and advanced cleaning solutions, Dabur Naturelle has dramatically lowered its energy use, carbon footprint, and water consumption, while improving process reliability. The project illustrates how thoughtful plant upgrades can support both business growth and environmental responsibility.
